SAIGON BAIGUR GIN - Vietnam
Saigon Baigur was inspired by the founders’ motorcycle trips around Vietnam. The name Baigur is from the first known settlement in Saigon, a small fish and spice trading post, and pays homage to the 1000 year old tradition of spice and botanical trading in the city. Not only do they take their symbol from the dragon but the bottle is also inspired by dragon scales. The dragon represents power, prosperity and also brings rain - essential to agriculture and the botanicals used in their gin.
The 12 botanicals include Buddhas Hand, grown in the capital of Hanoi, Saigon Cinnamon from the Annamite mountain ranges, vapour infused Lotus Flower from the Mekong Delta and Black Cardamom from the dense jungles in the north. These are distilled in a copper still called Saigon Thunder, as she was installed on a stormy day during the monsoon season.
Established in 2020 are the first professional gin distillery in Saigon and are located in District 9.
